About Us

The Connecticut Korean School was established at Amity Middle School in Orange, Connecticut, in September 1998, driven by a noble mission to provide education and foster an understanding of the Korean language and culture among its students. Over time, as the school expanded, it took steps to incorporate and officially registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2017, further solidifying its commitment to its educational objectives and community impact.

Greetings from the Principal:

I want to welcome everyone to the CT Korean School!

As principal of the CT Saturday Korean school, my passion is in helping second-generation Korean-American children to maintain their mother tongue and culture to be able to relate and communicate with their immigrant parents. The CT Korean school has played a large role in reaching that goal for a great number of children in the Connecticut community.

In recent times, our school has seen an increasing number of non-Korean students visiting, thanks to the influence of the Korean Wave (Hallyu). As a response to this trend, we have incorporated teaching Korean as a foreign language and concurrently introducing them to Korean culture, further enriching their educational experience.

Through this institute, I am proud to promote bilingualism and multiculturalism in this diverse society. And I would like to thank those parents who have the same goal for their children by sending them to our school. Our school’s dedicated faculty and I will continue to work hard so that we can mold our students into successfully balanced bilinguals who reap the intellectual benefits of speaking two languages fluently and will also use that skill to help contribute to society.

Our Mission 우리의 미션

At the Connecticut Korean School, we believe that the definition of being Korean is most certainly by birth but also by marriage, adoption, and acquisition of an interest in the Korean language and culture. Our ongoing mission is to promote Korean language and culture learning to All those who are Korean.

Vision 비전

My vision for the Korean school is to expand the boundaries of teaching Korean to all those who are interested, so that they may be well-educated in Korean language, history, music, food, and culture through an effective and stimulating curriculum. Please join us in realizing this mission!
